Bradford Loomis at Robin Road

My long time pal, Redwood Son, is in Portland for spring flings and other serious things. So of course, we had to get together before the sometimes Nashville cat heads back. Turns out I was in for a treat. He asked me if I was up for meeting a “dude”. A “big bear of a guy”, he told me. Or something like. Could he bring him along. I had no clue what I was in for.

It seems we all make connection for a reason. That is how Redwood Son and Bradford Loomis connected. To, as they said, “saturate and collaborate”.  Ok. I am game.

We sat down for a quick conversation before Bradford’s gig at The Wild Hare in Oregon City.

The new album from Bradford, Bravery and the Bell, is informed very much by what his father is going through. Alzheimers onset is something many of us have gone through with our parents, friends, family. That is the inspiration for Bradford’s latest album. And this current West Coast tour I caught him on, is a dedication to spreading the word.

Bradford is dedicated to his family in Yakima now, having moved from Seattle to a more simplified life last August. Even though on the road, being a parent and husband is what keeps him truckin.

By the way, everybody gets to have a sit down at our drum kit.

Bradford Loomis is the Facebook connect. Here is his site.
